About Us

We have been a professional consultancy since 2015, but our lead consultant, Dr. Daniel M. Alongi has been working in marine science for over 30 years. Formerly a research scientist at the Australian Institute of Marine Science, he has worked in coastal regions from

China to India and from the southern Great Barrier Reef to Exmouth Gulf in Western Australia.

We offer expert advice in helping to solve environmental problems in the coastal zone. These problems may include pollution and degradation of iconic habitats such as wetlands and sandy beaches. Dr. Alongi is a world-renowned global expert in such issues including blue carbon, and can offer one-on-one support and advice to ensure that our customers receive the best possible, economical and quickest solution to their problem.

Books

In January 2022, Wiley-Blackwell published a major work entitled Tropical Marine Ecology by Daniel M. Alongi. This comprehensive text is a first of its kind in focusing on the structure and function of tropical populations, communities and ecosystems in relation to oceanographic, chemical and geological features in the tropical sphere.

Previously published books include Tropical Mangrove Ecosystems (edited with A.I. Robertson), Coastal Ecosystem Processes, The Energetics of Mangrove Forests, Mangroves of the South China Sea: Ecology and Human Impacts on Indonesia's Forests ( S. Sukardjo), and Blue Carbon: Coastal Sequestration for Climate Change Mitigation.
